Beyond Politics – Conversations that Unite the Working Class
August 6 2025Right now, our country feels fractured. Fear and uncertainty are being exploited and too many voices in politics are using that to sow division, rather than offer real solutions. Some parties gain support by pointing fingers instead of building bridges, but if we respond with the same blame and bitterness, what do we really gain?
Let’s be honest: many people turning to those parties aren’t doing so out of hate. They’re looking for hope in a system that’s failed them – but short-term fixes and scapegoating don’t solve long term problems. Ultimately, it just to distract us from what’s really going on and from who’s really responsible.
We need to stop fighting each other and start listening again. We’re not just usernames online, we are people. We all have lives, struggles, dreams and more in common than we realise.
Social media posts and headlines have their place, but they can’t replace real connection – we must reject the politics of division and remind each other that we are not enemies. We are allies in the fight for fairness, justice and a future where no one is left behind.
It’s time to bring the conversation back to where it matters: face to face. We need open, honest and sometimes uncomfortable conversations. Respectful dialogue across differences, not to excuse harmful views, but to challenge them in a way that actually resonates with people.
We don’t need to agree on everything, but we do need to remember who we are. We are the (too often overlooked) working class and we have far more power as a collective than they’d care to admit.
