On mental health day we want to remind all our young members that its ok not to be ok! As reps we know mental health is a workplace issue and if you are dealing with this in your union role check out these resources from TUC: tuc.org.uk/resource/mentalhealth

What a weekend. We had some fantastic speakers wit

What a weekend. We had some fantastic speakers with Dr Stevie Nolan talking about why we are skint. Professor Phil Taylor, with the miners' strike and relevance in today, industries. I think it's fair to say that all the young workers who attended took a massive amount in over the 3 days.

The last day we had our mock conference and to say we are impressed with how well you all engaged is an understatement. Some of the motions submitted to the mock conference were incredible and included:

•allowing pets to come into work and form part of the committee
•use of social media bots to increase positive propaganda
•curfews for all under 30s for 10pm
•free beer for all at conferences
•and banning flip flops in the work place.

Of course, these were joke motions but served their purposes in getting the young workers up and confident to speak on not so serious issues. And it's fair to say the engagement was second to none from all the members who attended.

Thank you all for attending, and we hope you all took a huge amount out of the weekend. And we hope to see you very soon or at the next event.

And we're off. First day of our education event is up and running. With industrial sessions from telecoms, tech and postal.

We would like to thank all of our young worker members for attending. And ofcourse to all of our fantastic speakers. The membership has really got behind them and thrown some challenging question their way. Everyone has had full involvement.

Join CWU Eastern Region young workers this Sunday 25th August in Norwich for an open meeting discussion the importance of trade unions to young workers and how we can work to build our Young Workers Committee in the Region including guest speakers and a chance to meet CWU Reps and Officials, followed by a social event and a chance to find out more about getting involved in CWU and meet other young workers.

Open to all CWU members but seeking to encourage members aged 30 and under. Everyone is welcome, this is an ideal event for someone who has never attended a uion event before! Please come along and bring your friends with you.
