VMO2 members set to vote on inflation-busting wage rises
VMO2 March 4 2026
CWU members at VMO2 are voting on a deal that will see the company’s lowest paid workers achieve a significant wage rise.
After negotiations which started at the beginning of the new year and finished on 19th February, the union’s national negotiation team have agreed a final offer with the company.
Core to the union’s focus was that we must force a cost-of-living rise for all grades, and there was also core importance in addressing pay rates for VM02 retail staff, who are far too close to the minimum wage.
As a result, we agreed that all VMO2 workers represented by the CWU will receive a 3% wage rise.
Additionally, workers in retail will receive an 8.47% riser to match the real living wage, which equates to £13.45 an hour.
As such, the new pay rates for accredited retail workers and tier one retail workers will be:
- Tier 1 £24,587 increases to £26,669
- Accredited £26,883 increases to £28,669
We believe that the offer that has been arrived at successfully addresses both issues, and we will be recommending that the offer be accepted in a ballot of members in recognised bargaining units.
The ballot, which is now open, will close at 12 midday on Monday 9th March.
To talk through the offer, meetings are being held in work time, and it is vitally important for all members to attend.
Invites to the virtual meetings will be sent separately, so please check with your line manager to arrange which meeting you can be scheduled for. If there are any issues, please contact the union here.
