Enough is Enough

On Monday the 8th of August 2022, the Enough is Enough Campaign launched across the country with a video that can be seen here.

The campaign is part of the CWU’s Building Collectivism strategy and has been developed in conjunction with Tribune, RMT, the tenants union ACORN, Fans Supporting Foodbanks and Labour MPs  Zarah Sultana and Ian Byrne.

The campaign is aimed at mobilising people across the country to address the cost of living crisis, whilst also supporting the current wave of industrial disputes and the need for trade unions to fight for a new deal for working people.

The campaign has five key demands to address the crisis.

  1. A Real Pay Rise
  2. Slash Energy Bills
  3. End Food Poverty
  4. Decent Homes for All
  5. Tax the Rich

The campaign launch has been incredibly successful with over 7 million cross platform views of the launch video and 265,000 supporters already signed up to back the campaign.

The reaction has been overwhelming positive, with backing from celebrities, sports persons, media figures, trade unionists and the public. This support was so far reaching that it crashed the Enough is Enough website shortly after launch.

Enough is Enough will be organising rallies across the country in the coming weeks and building upon an established network of local groups- with the aim of engaging people in forms of collective action in solidarity with striking workers.

Keep tuned into the Enough is Enough social media pages for new videos and information on how to get involved in fighting the cost-of-living crisis.

It is more important now than ever that trade unions lead the fight against the cost-of-living crisis. That is why the CWU is proud to be a part of the Enough is Enough campaign and we encourage all our members to get join the fight back today.
