Telefonica – Changes to CSA, Admin and TSPEC Bonus
The CWU has been informed by Telefonica that they intend to make changes to the bonus arrangements that cover CSA, Admin and TSPEC grades
Due to the roll out of a new HR system throughout 2018, there will be a change to the way the business manages performance. From 2018 there will only be one performance review which will be an end of year performance review period.
This impacts on the way in which bonus to CSA, Admin and TSPEC grades is paid as follows:
- From next year bonuses will be paid on an annual basis for the previous 12 months performance.
- All employees eligible will still receive their February 2018 bonus payment for the review period of July-Dec 2017.
- The next bonus payment will be Feb 2019 for the performance period of Jan-Dec 2018.
- All other eligibility rules remain the same.
Whilst the bonus scheme payments are non-contractual and therefore not subject to agreement with the union we have however raised a number of concerns with the moving to one payment rather than two, not least that these changes have the potential to demotivate employees.
We have been assured that this is not a cost saving exercise and that managers will still have the discretion to award bonus and that the CAP Policy and Manager Guidance/Toolkit will emphasise the ability of managers to exercise discretion.
